Timmy started a new shift at his temp job this week. Originally he was hired to work part time from 7am to 11am April through September. After about a month he was asked to go full-time and then just a few weeks ago he was asked to stay on through Christmas- YES! the kicker is that he would have to work from 12-9pm which is great for me but a little rough on our parents and family members that are doing the majority of babysitting for us. I keep hoping that in December they will have decided he is too valuable to let go and they hire him on full time on a day shift- oh to dream! So we are taking advantage on the great weather and his time home in the mornings and trying to do more family oriented activities because we cant do them together outside of the weekend. And frankly I am so busy with the girls doing little excursions with them on the weekends that he doesn't get to see them all too often even when he is home. So now, although it is not a common practice- our family time is going to be weekday mornings till 11am. This is when we will do our grocery shopping, get yard work done and all the various errands we need to run. Then Timmy scoots off to work, I hop in the shower and the girls go to my parents, his parents (or Karla comes to watch them on Tuesdays) and then Tim picks them up around 930. Of course when I am off they don't go to the sitters but its funny to listen to both sets of parents when they don't see them for a couple days. The girls drive them nuts (as I can attest to personally) but then when they are away for a few days its almost like having withdrawals. That is until the first 30 minutes of seeing them again and then they are reminded why grandchildren a great--- you can play with them, teach them valuable lessons, fill their bellies with sugar and send them back home with their parents... my day will come.

The girls have been to feed the ducks roughly a million times this summer. Its great because its not too far away, its cheap and its something that all of us can do. They have a tendency to get too close to the water and we have to lunge and pull them back a few times but it keeps Tim and I on our toes. After we empty a few bags of corn we will usually head to see all the animals. There is a waterfall and bridge/cave that the girls like to cross on the way too. The paths through the woods reminded me of some scenes in the Wizard of Oz. Kaite and I decided we were explorers trying to discover dinosaur bones and baby birds... a vivid imagination this one.
This is Katie NOT throwing corn at her little sister- the stinkpot
